芝浦工業大学デザイン工学科の生産プロダクト系は、近年オフィス家具やインテリ業界に就職する学生が多い。企業側が希望することは、デザインだけでなく、工学系ならではの設計ができることであり、構造を考えられることである。課題ではあえて、板材のみでつくり、強度計算や板取を検討するという厳しい条件の中で新しく魅力的なスツールを提案する。またスツール提案だけでなく、ターゲット空間の３ＤＣＧ作成も課して、空間構成能力も延ばすことを試みている。

Companies are seeking not only design skills but also the ability to perform engineering-specific design and structural analysis. The assignment challenges students to create a new and attractive stool using only sheet materials, under strict conditions that require strength calculations and material selection. Additionally, the assignment includes creating 3DCG models of the target space to enhance spatial composition skills.
