このグラスは江戸切子の模様の様ですが、逆さまにすると人形としてみることができます。隠し絵のテクニックです。日本では3月3日女の子のお祝いに人形を飾る風習があります。本当は多くの家来の人形も一緒に飾るのですが、最近は家のスペースが狭いので王様と王女様のみの飾りです。これは、さらに普段はお酒のグラスとして使えるので、普段でも有効に使うことが出来ます。東京の江戸切子職人とのコラボレーションです。

Doll Glass - Wakana Tajima

This glass has a pattern of “Edo Kiriko”, but once you turn the bottoms upside down, you can see the patterns as a doll. We took in the techniques of hidden pictures. In Japan, we have the culture of decorating the house with dolls in March 3rd, for celebrating women. Formerly, people decorated the house with vassal dolls in addition to king and queen dolls, but people only decorate the house with only king and queen dolls, nowadays. This doll glass can be used to drink alcohol for ordinary use as well. This was a collaboration project with an “Edo Kiriko” craftsman in Tokyo.
